It is with deep sadness that Project Youth OCBF mourns the passing of longtime board member and friend John Hurlbut. John passed away on June 15, 2021 following a long and courageous battle with cancer.
In addition to his illustrious legal career at Rutan & Tucker, LLP, John was a longtime board member of Project Youth OCBF. He served as President in 2011, and as a Past-President continued his strong commitment to Project Youth including service on several committees. John believed deeply in our mission and in the power of education.
Throughout his career, John was a well-respected member of the legal community. He was the recipient of many honors, including the Franklin G. West Award (2012) and Project Youth OCBF’s Robert Samuel Barnes Award (2013).
John’s incredible legacy has allowed so many students to pursue their dreams of higher education. We are honored and blessed to have worked with him. John was a good man who will certainly be missed. From all of us at Project Youth OCBF, our love and prayers go out to John’s family.
